Scotty! What the hell is going on down there?!

I've been bitching, mostly to myself, about how slow blogger is lately. Well it looks like they are working on it at least... (Star Trek.com) In the mean time I have been considering making a switch to Typepad or maybe even Moveable Type. Blogger is ok but it's kinda slow and I want to be able to do more with the 'look' of my site. I'd like to customize it more to my own design. Of course, moving to one of these services means prying open my wallet, since they are not free, like Blogger (dammit).
